aNIMATION sOUND DESIGN & FOLEY
For this project, we re-sound designed an animation of the pool rooms. We recorded many takes moving our legs around in a bathtub matching what the movements of the character in the animation would be leaving us with a realistic match to the visuals. Then, after some layering and additional sound design and effects, we were able to come up with an unsettling and realistic world of audio to match the visuals. We made sure to account for every little detail such as the kind of pants the character may be wearing, the different echoes in different spaces, and the distorted sound of the camcorder.
stAR WARS sound design
Wrangler Audio was commissioned to sound design an action-heavy sequence from a star wars fan animation. The sound design for this project includes a variety of sound effects including ship fly-by sounds, explosions, and weapons firing. These sounds are created and carefully mixed to match the visuals and ground the animation in a world of believable and engaging sounds. Music would be added later in the final project so the sound design was kept minimal but engaging.
rEALISTIC Sound Effects
For this project, we recorded and layered multiple sounds including carboard boxes being ripped apart, hollow bolts clanging on an ironing board leg, and striking a PVC pipe to create this realistic sound effect of a mortar firing. It was important to capture the metallic ring that gives this mortar its distinctive sound while making sure it was not overpowering or distracting from the rest of the sound effect as a whole. Then, the sounds of debris falling all around the camera ties it all together, grounding the mortar sound effect and giving the scene a sense of realism.
APP user interface sounds
Wrangler Audio designed a bundle of user interface sounds and achievement sounds for a chess app. to create the sounds of the pieces, we recorded real chess pieces using foley techniques and after cleaning the sounds, we edited and layered them to create a cohesive and satisfying blend of sound effects. For the achievement UI, we used musical instruments, effects, and recorded various sounds to demonstrate the visuals in each animation with sound.
